A note from Rick on our one-year anniversary

The first year of Weatherman is in the books, and it's been an incredible journey so far!

We're just getting started in our mission to change the way people think about umbrellas. We've grown and learned a lot in these 365 days, but our goal for Year 2 (and beyond) remains the same: to make umbrellas that are nothing short of amazing and make you happy to go out in the rain.

We began the year with two styles and six beautiful colors. In January we launched our golf umbrellas and were blown away by the positive response: Golf Digest named us the Editors’ Choice for Best Umbrella; we became the official umbrella of the LPGA; and then in September we served as the proud umbrella supplier for the U.S. Ryder Cup team.

Since launching our patriotic Folds of Honor collection this summer, we've raised $70,000 to help support veterans and their families. We've also contributed to breast cancer research by donating $5,000 to Susan G. Komen Greater NYC, and we've helped to grow the game of golf among girls through our partnership with the LPGA Foundation.

When I set out with this idea several years ago, I had no idea how well people would respond to the concept: a thoughtfully designed, quality umbrella with technology included. You have all been so amazing – some of you purchasing, some giving us feedback both good and bad, but all helping us grow what I hope will become the brand known for quality umbrellas (and maybe some other weather products down the line). Thank you for your support and interaction.
